Participation in activities outside the classroom is an integral part of the college experience, which is why GateWay offers eight ACCAC athletic programs and a variety of clubs for students to join and explore their interests. Located in the Main building, the GateWay Community College Center for Student Life consists of Gecko Athletics, student clubs, as well as Campus Wellness. Events and Activities
The GateWay Student Life department offers a variety of activities for students to participate in to get a break from the books and relax with friends.
Some of 2007’s activities included:
- A ping pong tournament with about 25 competitors
- Movie viewings a couple of times each month
- The 4th-Annual Holiday Buffet, a semiformal holiday dinner in December
- Turkey Bowling presented by the HSO club
- Gecko Idol with about 50 participants and plenty of food and prizes
- November’s pizza with the GateWay president Wellness events such as free massages
