PROSPER: A Student Support Services Program Providing Resources & Opportunities to Students Pursuing Educational Rewards
PROSPER is a program at GateWay Community College that is funded by TRIO grant from the US Department of Education. Our mission is to provide free, individualized support to GateWay's low income, first generation and disabled students.
PROSPER provides eligible students with the following:
- Individual Advising
- Academic Tutoring
- College Success Workshops and Study Halls
- Equipment & Textbook checkout
- Financial Aid Assistance
- Merit grants for eligible students
- Mentoring
- Campus Visits and Transfer Assistance
- Career Guidance and Exposure
- Cultural Experience
- A Family on Campus
To be eligible for PROSPER, a student be one or more of the following:
- A low-income student (the student’s taxable income for the most recent tax filing is within the federal low-income guidelines.
- A first generation student (neither of the student’s parents have a bachelors degree from an American college or university).
- A disabled student (the student has a documented physical or learning disability on file in GateWay’s Office of Disability Resources.
