Adult Re-entry

What Are Adult Re-Entry Services?

Adult Re-entry Services provide a variety of resources for the returning adult student who is seeking information about educational goals and career options. Historically, the re-entry student population has been defined as students who are twenty-five years old and over, who are returning to school, or who are starting school for the first time. With the changing economic environment, many displaced workers have also become re-entry students as a means of obtaining new skills to compete in the modern day job market. As a result, students over twenty-five years of age are now one of the fastest growing segments of the college population. Whether you are attending classes in order to pursue a degree or simply to acquire new skills, the Adult Re-entry Services at Gateway Community College provides re-entry students with a welcoming and supportive environment to facilitate the transitions that many adults face when returning to college.
