Services 

GateWay Community College works on a case-by-case basis in the funding and provision for reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. To request accommodations or services, please contact the Coordinator of Special Services. All types of reasonable accommodations will be considered, with preference to the individual being considered first. There may, however, be instances where it will be necessary to substitute an alternative means of accommodation(s), depending upon available resources.

Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, given a reasonable time frame. Please refer to the following table when requesting services. Although the following timelines are preferred, every attempt will be made to provide services in the most timely manner possible.

Disability

Required documentation.

Physical Disability

Medical report stating extent of injury, illness, or condition.

Blind/Visual Impairment

Medical report stating restricted vision fields.

Deaf/Hearing Impairment

Audiological evaluation indicating extent of hearing loss.

Learning Disability

Psycho-educational evaluations that are no more than three years old, administered by qualified professionals.

Other/Hidden Disabilities

Evaluation based uoon documentation and need.
